News: Brands Hatch British Superbikes April 08
The 2008 British Superbike Championship went to the International circuit at Brands Hatch, in Kent for its opening round. Friday and Saturday saw early Spring sun and qualifying action out on the track being headed by GSE Airwaves Ducati’s Shane Byrne. Despite the fairly low crowds (no doubt most were holding off to come on the Sunday) arc-on did brisk business and got a warm reception from the race going fans.
Sunday however was a bit colder… Snow descended on the circuit and exhibitors for 6 hours and, while we sat in our tent, trying to keep warm the race organisers got together and eventually had to call off the race. Snowball fights with the Bennets girls and coffee runs with the guys next door from R&G kept our spirits up before we dug the van out of 2 foot of snow and slithered home.
